Win one at Sacto, (which I didn’t see), lose one at home against the MIA (which I did see, in a nightmarish daze), give, take, onesy, twosie don’t work after you dig a hole. An inequitous one, at that. Kaman looked strong out the gate against the Heat, and then withered under the continued Shaq banging, and moreso, Mourning applied guile imbued pressure. Funny that all these years later, the #1 & 2 picks in the draft (1991, was it? 92?) should eventually play together, zo backing up the diesel, although Zo looked the more formidable one on Sunday. His defense is still momentarily glorious, although his body rebels with age, but not like it should be doing after a kidney transplant. Alonzo Mourning, medical marvel and Chris Kaman frustrater.
Every time Brevin Knight makes a long jumper (or even a mid range one) I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. I’m happy because he made a shot, which means two points, and the defense will be forced (theoretically?) to play up on him a bit. I’m sad because it might encourage him to shoot more jumpers, and the more he’s made in a row, the more exponentially he will miss in a row. This is the first such player I’ve ever felt this way about. The crappy shooter finding his stroke is almost universally a good thing, but with Brevin Knight, I really think his shot is that bad that it’s a curse waiting to happen. But what’s another snakebite at this point?
